The Plain Sight Archive Library is located in East Hollywood in Los Angeles. We are part of an historic artist community of live/work studios that has been active since the 1960s. With our library and small exhibition space, we have participated in community events and open studio days.
Our inventory currently stands at ~2500 books, 1500 periodicals, exhibition catalogs and ephemeral collections centered on women identifying artists, artists of color and marginalized communities. Also housed onsite are 250 unique works of art.
We are open by appointment to researchers and interested individuals, we hope to expand access to a wider audience over the course of the next two years, including both onsite hours and a fully searchable online catalog.
